Before your treatment begins, we’ll escort you to one of our private treatment rooms where we’ll sterilize the areas of extraction and destination. We’ll administer a local anesthetic so you don’t have to worry about the risk of going under general anesthesia. Although it’s much less disruptive than conventional liposuction, laser liposuction does require the use of a cannula under your skin to extract fat. At the beginning of your procedure, Dr. Chakerian will make a very small incision to insert the cannula and will then suction the fat. After the fat cells are removed, Dr. Chakerian will deposit the purified fat into the designated area(s). Depending on the size of the area(s) being treated, your session could last around 1 – 3 hours.
